Guyana is part of the South American continent and is bordered by Brazil, Venezuela and Suriname. Despite being a South American nation, Guyana is considered more Caribbean than Latin American. English is spoken widely here and cricket is more of a passion than football. On the whole Guyana is more culturally aligned with the other Caribbean island nations.
